Kenrith, the Returned King
Kenrith is an extremely flexible 5 color that can house a number of different strategies. It’s activated abilities can allow for a great amount of late game manipulation of the boardstate. It has historically housed different strategies such as Hermit Druid, Midrange, Turbonaus, Re-animator and more. If you sleeve up Kenrith there is almost always going to be a relevant version of the deck.
Pros:
Extremely flexible commander can fit a number of different strategies.
5 Color access allows for flexibility.
Kenrith’s tree of abilities give the player a lot of agency.
Cons:
Expensive commander
Jack of all trades, master of none.
Dockside was banned.
HOW DO WE WIN?
Kenrith has undergone many changes in the since the recent bans his win cons are still actively being explored. But often you’ll see the following.
Underworld Breach + Brain Freeze + LED
Chatterfang+Warren Soultrader. (Using Kenrith to gain life)
Thassa’s Oracle + Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact.
Occasionally Hermit Druid.
Selvala + Phantasmal Image + Kenrith and a creature with 8 power.
Auriok salvagers + LED
Evolution Witness + Kenrith + LED
Agatha of the Vile Cauldron with power 3 + Smothering Tithe + Grand Abolisher
